If you plan to ship anything off you will need good shipping supplies. If you sell online you are going to need shipping supplies. When selling online for almost all of your orders you are going to have to mail the items off to the customer after they purchase what you are selling. This is not a hard thing to do and a lot of people do it. It can be hard if you do not know what to mail it in or do not have anything to mail it in.

When it comes to shipping supplies you do not need just one thing. In order to ship something out you are going to need several things. You have to make sure that your packages are sealed up nicely when you mail them so they do not fall apart during shipping. This can make your customers angry and make people not want to buy from you if a lot of stuff you sell gets lost in the mail and you are at fault.

One thing you are going to need is bubble wrap mailers. These are common and work well for shipping a whole lot of things in. They are flexible and so if the item is not too fragile it can be put in one of these. The benefits of a bubble mailer is that it is light weight. When you ship things two things are taken into consideration, weight and size. The heavier the package is the more it will cost and the same goes for the size. The bubble mailers are nice and light weight so they can ship cheaper than if you was to put the same item into a standard box.

You will need boxes to ship stuff in too though. Some things just do not need to be shipped in bubble mailers. The bubble mailer will not prevent things from being crushed as it has no support for the item inside it. A box however supports what is inside it because the box will not give any unless a lot of weight is put on top of it. So for things that are more fragile to being crushed then you will want to use a box.

The next thing you will need is tape. Tape is important because you have to seal your packages up well so they do not open up during shipping. Clear packaging tape is the way to go for the most part but you could use brown packaging tape too. Both work great and are really strong so that your packages stay sealed tight for the whole journey. Some bubble mailers and boxes made for shipping have built in adhesive for sealing themselves up but most boxes don’t have this so tape is needed if you plan to ship anything. You do not want to go too easy on the tape. You will not have to use a ton of tape but the tape is cheap compared to an item opening up while being shipped and getting lost.

Stretch film, stretch wrap, is used extensively in industry as well as in the home and retail environments. Good quality stretch film will allow you and your colleagues, or staff, to produce products that are ready to be transported to market quickly and efficiently. In addition, the products will be well protected by the stretch film. However, use of stretch film in the hands of those who have not been trained can cause problems and unnecessary production costs.
Stretch film should be used in conjunction with a cutter system, a guillotine if you prefer. The use of a stretch film roller, together with an effective cutter, means the operator has both hands free to maneuver the item into position, thus maximizing packaging. Once the cut is made in the stretch film, it covers the item to protect it from being damaged during transport, either to its point of sale or to be taken home by the buyer. Stretch film has the ability to be stretched by up to more than 100% of its original length. This means that it provides a tough wrap around the products that it is meant to protect.
Stretch film is extensively used to protect bulky food products. It is widely used in shipping, moving, warehouse and transportation. Machine film usually has the width of 20″, hand film range from 3″ to 18″, however, 3″ and 5″ stretch film with handle is also called banding film. Stretch wraps are not created equal, some film is thicker and heavier duty, like 80 gauge, which is for wrapping heavy pallets, some are lighter duty like 11 micron, which is used for wrapping lighter commodities. To convert micron to gauge, 100 gauge = 1 mil = 25.4 micron, so, 11 micron = 43 gauge, and 16.5 micron = 65 gauge. Super heavy duty, over 100 gauge, hand stretch film is available on the market but not used that much by consumers.
While most customers will satisfied with clear stretch film, some do need black or color stretch film to hide content of wrapped pallet.
