Polyolefin shrink film is exceptionally strong too. In fact, polyolefin shrink film, with a gauge of 60 is actually stronger than a PVC film with a thicker 75 gauge. Thanks to its strength and relative cost being the cheaper than PVC, polyolefin shrink film is better value for money, as you get more per square foot for your money than you do with PVC.
Another advantage of polyolefin shrink film is its excellent clarity. Recent developments have made polyolefin shrink film as good in terms of clarity as PVC. In addition, its shrinkage rates measuring over 55% in all directions are as good as the industry demands. Those familiar with PVC shrink film will note that polyolefin shrink film will require higher shrink temperatures than with PVC. In common with PVC shrink film, it can be worked manually or with automatic or semi automatic heat shrinking equipment. Cross link polyolefin shrink film is even stronger, clearer, and higher shrinkage rate than normal polyolefin shrink film, it is good for full automatic high speed shrink packaging machines.
