A poly bag is usually referred to as a container made of polyethylene, commonly known as polythene. Polythene is a thin, transparent plastic film, and is used for varied purposes.
It could be used for holding grocery items, plastic or glass bottles, books and even trash. Polythene is characterized by its strong tensile strength. This strength is derived from strong bonds between the polymers formed in ethylene.
Plastic bags or poly bags are commonly used for packaging purposes. Most of the supermarkets or shops provide their customers with free poly bags used for packing their goods.
Different kinds of poly bags are used for different purposes. Plastic bags may be of many shapes and sizes. Poly bags generally use less material than other boxes or containers, and hence are the preferred mode of packaging goods, which are purchased often. For e.g. Groceries
Plastic bags are easily recyclable and it is one of their positive features. It can be easily disposed of after use. Plastic bags in landfills do not cause waste pollution and remain in a benign state.

These boxes are tough and made from PVC which is inherently tougher than normal polyethylene.
PVC is nothing but re-enforced polythene and the polymer bonds contained within PVC have a much higher melting point than normal polythene.

These are a few of the uses which polythene are used for, although the range of use of polythene is far much wider than can be expressed in a single article. It is up to the consumer to decide on their need for different plastic goods, and express that need to the manufacturer, and make a successful transaction.
