Shrink wrap film for business purposes!!
Shrink wrap is one of the most commonly used methods to protect items for storage and shipping. Size of items which can be shrink wrap may vary from jewellery sets to CD cases or even boats. Even building rooftops can be shrink wrapped to protect them from adverse weather conditions.
Shrink wrap, apart from being used in the industry for storage and shipping purposes, is also used by small business owners who wrap their own products while readying them for distribution.
If you are looking for PVC shrink tubing, you are in the right place. There are many manufacturers that supply distributors with shrink wrap film, which can be used for varied purposes. The two most commonly available materials used in the manufacture of shrink film are polyolefin and PVC (Poly vinyl chloride). One important factor is that the blow dryers do not go well with polyolefin as it requires higher shrink temperature.
Polyolefin is useful when it comes to wrapping products with sharp edges, and perishable items like food, and has less odour as compared with other materials. However, for most wrap jobs, PVC is the preferred material as it is tougher and more resilient to handling conditions, and daily wear and tear.
Basic steps which can be followed to use shrink wrap PVC film are as follows:
1) Impulse sealers or heat guns are some of the most basic machines available in the market which can be used to shrink wrap film on the desired product. It allows you to shrink wrap items of varied sizes and shapes. The consumer should know the temperature at which the film shrink wraps on the intended item, without burning.
Temperature can be adjusted for films with different thresholds.
2) Once you have measured the size of the product which you have selected to shrink wrap, cut the film as per the dimensions of the product leaving some excess film to cover the sides, and then use the impulse sealer or heat gun to shrink wrap around the item. However, if you are using pre-made bags to hold the product, you may simply place the item in the bag.
3) Place the open edges of the film into the sealer and close the arm, which will then heat and seal the sides.
Excess plastic on the product after sealing can be removed manually, if you do not have a cutter. Consumers should bring the item as close to sealer without coming in actual contact with the sealer, this will lead to a clean looking finished product, and help to save shrink film which can be used for other purposes.
4) A heat gun resembles a hair dryer but it delivers heat more evenly on the film. From a safe distance, make several passes over the film. The film will quickly react to the heat from the heat gun and shrink down to the exact size of the item. Rotate the item as you pass the heat gun over it to make sure you heat the film evenly. Using the gun too close to the film may burn the shrink film or result in undesired results.
These are a few of the methods one can employ while shrink wrapping items for their business. Bulk orders can also be placed, and this will fetch favourable discounts for the customers.
