Why use cable ties?
Cable ties have a simple but important application when securing packaging; the key use is that need to seal the wrapping securely. Cable ties are designed with a simple principal function. The cable tie comes with a head and a tail; the body in between contains a series of gear rack locking teeth. When used, the tail is passed through an aperture in the head and the tail moves through smoothly and can be pulled easily in one direction for closing. However, the design of the cable tie is to make movement in the opposite direction impossible as the gears lock the tie shut.
The looping effect of the cable tie means that it can only be tightened with each pull and not opened; the geared teeth of the cable tie act as a kind of saw tooth mechanism with a ratchet. This holds the tooth firm and blocks it from being reopened or pulled back. Cable ties can come in various different colors, width and lengths. You simply select the correct tension strength and length of the cable ties you require, depending upon your packaging needs. The cheapest cable ties come in a nature white opaque color. If you need to use cable ties outdoor, you may choose UV resistant black color cable tie.
